COMPETITION RULES

Competition	Rules
	All Society Competitions, with the exception of the Annual Outing, are played over Ladybank off the Members Tees.
6 Best Cards	AGS Ladybank cards returned at any point during the season, full handicap allowance, 6 best net scores.
Annual Matches                      versus Strathmiglo (& Newburgh)	Handicap pairs match play. National handicaps apply. Lowest handicap of the 4 players goes to scratch, others receive 90% difference (CONGU January 2016). Count to the last for "holes up" total. Losing pairs buy their opponents lunch!
Balfour Flask	3 clubs + putter, stroke play, full handicap. Usually played over 9 holes at New Year, weather permitting, or at beginning of the season over 18 holes using 4 clubs + putter.
Bob Scott Trophy	Stableford. Handicap allowance = ⅞. 2 points for a par, 3 for 1 under, 4 for 2 under, 1 for 1 over, etc. If it is mathematically impossible to score any points, pick the bloody thing up!
Bogey Competition	Match play against the course. Handicap difference is ¾ to a maximum of 18. Strokes to be taken in accordance with Stroke Indicator.
David Leven Trophy	Strokeplay, full handicap.
Doubles	All members included, drawn at the AGM. Handicap knockout played over full season Lowest handicap of the 4 players goes to scratch, others receive 90% difference (CONGU January 2016).
Eclectic	Best net score for all holes (Ladybank) for cards returned at any point during the season. Full handicaps apply. If you score 5 at the 1st (which is stroke indicator 11) and your handicap at this time is 11 or greater, that gives a net 4. If at the end of the season that is your best, or eclectic, score for this hole that is what counts.
Handicap Trophy	Annual Outing, Strokeplay 36 hole HANDICAP total.
Invitation Greensomes	A member will invite a guest, member plays off Society handicap, guest plays off national, half the combined. At each hole both will drive, select a drive, play ALTERNATE shots from that point.
Monthly Medal	Strokeplay, full handicap. Played for every month in the season, winners play-off in October for the Medal for the year.
Round Robin	Handicap match play. Each member plays each other once only at any time during the season. Win = 2 pts, Half = 1. Handicap = ¾ difference.
Scratch Trophy	Annual Outing, Strokeplay 36 hole SCRATCH total.
Singles	All members included, drawn at the AGM. Handicap knockout played over full season. Handicap = ¾ difference.
Stableford	Annual Outing (afternoon) 18 hole Stableford (handicap allowance = ⅞).  Designed to give those who have a bad morning something to play for.
